This summer, Chuckey-Doak FFA students attended Tennessee FFA Camp Clements from June 24th to 28th. The attendees were Avery Armstrong, Chelsea Hensley, Cheyenne Harris, Ethan Heimiller, Josie Tonies, Joshua Franklin, Madison Shelton, Maya Byrd, Samantha Fellers, Sapana Das, Sterling Simmons, Remington James, and Xiomara Vides, along with our advisors Mr. Chase Murray and Mr. Larkin Clemmer. The camp had 236 members, advisors, and guests present. Tennessee FFA State Officers T. Wayne Williams, Lexi Rush, Emily Whitehead, and Eli Julian were also in attendance, as well as the National Eastern Region Vice President Morgan Anderson.

It was an awesome week-long program. At Camp Clements, we attended Officer and Specialty Classes, which focused on various FFA competitions. These classes provided us with tips and advice from our peers within the TN FFA Community. Personally, I attended the Secretary and Parliamentary Procedure classes, which helped me understand my responsibilities within our
team and chapter. We also participated in athletic programs, where our own Ethan Heimiller was recognized for being on the winning team for Camp Clements Week 5 Athletics.

The Chuckey-Doak FFA Officers, including Avery Armstrong, Chelsea Hensley, Sapana Das, Xiomara Vides, Madison Shelton, and Joshua Franklin successfully completed the first night of Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Our entire chapter participated in the ropes course, which greatly enhanced our chapter’s connectivity and bonding. Avery Armstrong showcased his skills in the extemporaneous speaking event, while Sapana Das excelled in the Quiz Contest. Our Quiz Bowl team, featuring Avery Armstrong, Chelsea Hensley, Sapana Das, and Xiomara Vides, performed admirably in the competition.

At Tennessee FFA Camp Clements, our Chuckey-Doak FFA students achieved outstanding success! They earned 5 bronze leadership awards, 4 silver leadership awards, and 4 gold leadership awards. It’s fantastic to see our students being recognized for their leadership skills and dedication. They truly shined bright at the camp! We had an incredible time at Camp Clements, creating everlasting memories and forming strong friendships. We’re already looking forward to returning next year. Your adventure begins now, Tennessee FFA!
