CDHS Cross Country Starts Season with Two Invitationals

To start off the season, the Chuckey-Doak Cross Country team has run two meets in August so far. With the first meet, at Iron Mountains Invitational, Cora Merrill ran a 24:53.04, Kylee Askew ran a 38:49.80, and Chelsea Hensley with a 44:02.36. As for the boys, Blake Lippard ran a 19:43.62, Landon Brown ran a 21:12.04 and Landon Thomas ran a 23:41.60.

The second meet, at Panther Creek Invitational, Blake Lippard ran 22:18.33, Landon Brown ran a 24:17.04, Landon Thomas ran 28:12.50 and Benji Merrill ran a 22:13.34.For the girls, Gili Moratalla ran a 35:04.14 and Kylee Askew ran a 33:42.94. The Chuckey-Doak athletics department expects great things from our talented runners. Go Black Knights!

Coach May, head coach of the Cross Country team, told our reporter Kylinn Davis that this season “is going pretty good, we have a lot of new runners this year. The only returning runner is Blake Lippard. All of our boys who are running right now, excluding Blake, are freshmen.  We have 3 new senior runners on the girls team and a sophomore runner from North Greene.  We should have a great season!”
