Cross-county rivals battle it out in the Black Hole

As the season heats up so does the county rivalries. Our Chuckey-Doak Black Knights battled the cross-county West Greene Buffaloes hoping to recreate the sights of last year’s victory on September 6th.  Our Black Knights held their ground but fell short ending the first quarter 13-0. With the hope of victory still in sight, the Black Knight persevered going into halftime tied 13-13. Flags being thrown and fumbles became a constant issue. The Black Knights lightened up again, giving the Buffaloes the lead back, ending the third quarter 15-13. Coach Kaylor kept his players motivated, but they fall short, ending the fourth quarter 27-13.

Our Game’s Dedication

We chose to dedicate this game to honor the lives lost and the enduring legacy of the countless lives that were affected by the tragic events that occurred on 9/11/01. This day serves as a reminder not only of the profound loss we experienced as a nation, but also of the resilience, unity, and strength that emerged in the aftermath. Through this dedication, we seek to pay tribute to the heroes who sacrificed so much and to stand in solidarity with all those affected by this moment in history.

As Tragedy Strikes, Unity Forms

The Chuckey Doak Black Knights and West Greene Buffaloes had a very memorable night and not in the way fans expected. An unfortunate series of injuries marred the game, leaving both teams and their fans deeply concerned. This game started with emotions on high as everyone knew both teams were heavily eager to win this game. However, it quickly became a nightmare of ripped jerseys, slings, and even a call for an ambulance. Despite their rivalry, both teams came together during these scary situations and prayed for the injured players. In the end, they are all human on and off the football field.

CDHS Football Prepares for Home Games

The football team played away last week, but for the next two weeks they will be playing at home. This Friday, September 20th, the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights will be playing the Pigeon Forge Tigers. During Homecoming Week on September 27th, CDHS will play Cocke County. Come out and support your Chuckey-Doak Black Knights. Home games begin at 7:00 pm and tickets are $8.

Congratulations to Maddie and Emmie for publishing their first article with the CDHS Charger! We also want to wish Coach Kaylor, the entire coaching staff, and our football team good luck in their upcoming games. Go Black Knights!
