Black Knights Launch 2024-2025 Basketball Season

It is a very exciting time here at Chuckey-Doak because it is basketball season. We have already played Washburn County, Hancock County, the Hardee’s Classic, University High, North Greene, and Cloudland. This week, we will be playing Hampton’s, Happy Valley, and Cedarview Christian. Please refer to the schedule below, courtesy of #cdhsathletics.

The boys basketball team includes Gage Hill, Dom Atchison, Blake Lippard, Gavin Crum, Ryland Grindstaff, Hannes Miehlke, Ben Palazzo, Grant Bishop, Mason Henderson, Gavin Murray, Chance Malone, and Bradley Caldwell. The girls basketball team includes Jayden Myers, Chloe Kirkpatrick, Saniah Atchison, Khloe Henderson, Kennedy Brown, Isabelle Karriker, Layla Fox, Tralyn Southerland, Tavyn Southerland, Sarah Yates, and Jessie Dayton.

While both girls and boys did fall short last night against North Greene, it was still a great game for Kennedy Brown and Ryland Grindstaff; Kennedy had 12 out of the 36 points for the girls team and Ryland had 21 out of the 36 points for the boys. We may have had a rough start to the 2024-2025 season, but it is still early in the season, and there is time for both teams to turn the season around. We can’t wait to see how both teams push through.

So far this season, the girls team is 3-4 and the boys team is 1-5. We hope to increase the wins by the end of the season. So far we have played some tough teams, so we know our players will keep working hard.
