One of the most exciting times during the school year is Christmas break. Students, teachers, and other faculty members look forward to the time off to spend with family and friends, celebrating their favorite winter holidays. This school year, our Christmas break began on December 23rd. Most Chuckey-Doak students celebrated Christmas with their families on December 25th and New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day on December 31st and January 1st.

To kick off the new semester, students and teachers around the school were interviewed to find out what all they did over Christmas Break.

On December 6, 2024, downtown Greeneville held a Christmas tree lighting in front of the Greene County courthouse. Families from all around came to attend the event. The Christmas tree did not light up until 8:30 pm; during the wait there was Santa, Christmas carolers, live music, hayrides, etc. The tradition of Christmas tree lighting started over 75 years ago and continues bringing the community together during holidays to have a good time and watch the lighting take place.
