Our Fine Arts programs at Chuckey-Doak give students the opportunity to explore hobbies and careers they are interested in or passionate about. We offer four different Fine Arts programs: Ms. Smiley’s art classes, Mr. Brady’s band class, Mrs. Allen’s theatre class, and Mrs. Allen’s chorus class. These classes offer real life experiences along with the fine arts instruction. These programs also feature an extra-curricular opportunity for students.

Ms. Smiley’s art classes consist of Introduction to Art, Advanced 2-D Art, and Advanced Ceramics. Intro to Art consists of introducing students to the fundamental basics of art, such as drawing with perspectives, color theory, composition, principles of design, shapes, and many more concepts. Advanced 2-D art focuses more on painting, drawing more complex ideas, printmaking, and oil pastel art. Advanced Ceramics focuses on the concept of clay and how to use it to make art. During the ceramics class, students actually use their own block of clay and learn how to shape, form, and make their own special pieces.

Mrs. Allen offers 3 different classes: Chorus, Theatre, and Music Appreciation. Along with those classes she also has a knight time chorus class, where students go to her room for twenty-five minutes during the school day. During these classes, students learn how to use their voices, express their emotions, and overall express themselves. Our Chorus students perform at many places throughout the school year, some of these places include at school, downtown Greeneville, and JB Lyle.

Our theatre students perform plays here at school, which people and parents from town come and watch. Music Appreciation focuses on the fundamentals of music and teaches students about different styles and generations of music. Mrs. Allen also stated that she should be offering a piano class next school year, so if you’re a student interested in learning to play piano, Mrs. Allen is the lady to see.

Mr. Brady is our band director here at Chuckey-Doak. Band consists of learning and using different instruments to create one big symphony together. Being a band student also gives you the opportunity to learn things like teamwork, collaboration, persistence, accountability, patience, and responsibility. The band has different opportunities to showcase their talents during the school year. They have traveled to The University of Tennessee, different band competitions, and they perform at games here at school. If upcoming or current students are interested in becoming part of the band, please talk to the man Mr. Brady himself.
