Chuckey-Doak Golfers On the Rolling Green

This season, the Black Knights have been on a roll during their 2025-2026 golf season. The Black Knight golf team consists of 3 girls, 10 boys, and 2 coaches. The coaches are D’Lee Pollock and Timmy Thompson. The girls are Kyleigh Crawford, Harley Thompson, and Addilyn Boesch. The boys consist of: Kaleb Blankenship, Knox McAmis, Dakine Thompson, Ben Palazzo, Ty Shelton, Harrison Ayers, Randall Sauceman, Gage Jennings, Gavin Murray, and Denver Huff. The team held a fundraiser on July 12th at 8:00 am to raise money to fund their equipment.

The team started summer conditioning and practice on Tuesday, May 20th, and ended on Thursday, June 19th. Their first tournament was The 1913 Invitational on July 21st at 8:00 am. Kyleigh Crawford shot the best score of the day for the Black Knights with a 90 through eighteen holes. Kaleb Blankenship shot the second-best score for the team with a 97. Overall, the entire team played well and saw a lot of improvements from all their practice. 

The next tournament was the Cherokee Invitational on July 29th at 8:00 am, exclusive to underclassmen, where no seniors could participate. The girls placed first in the tournament, and Harley Thompson got first place in the whole tournament for the girls with a score of 99 through eighteen holes. The boys placed fourth in the tournament. Knox McAmis had the lowest score at 102 for the boys. The next week was the team’s very first match against Greeneville High School and Providence Academy. Although the boys’ team placed third in the match, they saw massive improvements from the players. The boys’ number one seed, Kaleb Blakenship, shot a 42 as the team’s lowest score. The girls’ team placed first in the match. Harley Thompson had the lowest score of the day for the girls at 44. 

The Knights’ most recent match was against county rivals: West Greene High School, South Greene High School, and North Greene High School. The girls’ team placed first in the match with a team score of 99. Kyleigh Crawford shot a 48, which was the lowest score by any girl in the match. The boys placed third with Ty Shelton shooting the lowest score for the team at 51. Overall, the whole team has been playing really well and continues to show improvements. 

This season, the Knights have shown courage and improvement. They continue to fight and try to make strides forward to become the team they can be. The team is about halfway through its season now and is looking for support from local fans. Good luck with the rest of the season, Black Knight golf team. Go Black Knights!
