The 2025-2026 school year started on August 2nd for freshman students. Their first day of school included attending orientation and discovering the layout of the campus while obtaining their new schedules. The freshman also learned who the teachers at CDHS were and where their classes were located. The remainder of the students came back on August 6th for their very first day of school. Many changes took place over the summer, such as multiple new teachers and brand new classes to take. Students were extremely excited to be back in school for the new school year!

To kick off the first official school day, Principal Broyles gathered all the students in the auditorium to explain what the school year would look like. He talked about many important topics, including the new cell phone policy and how exciting and important the new school year is to him. This helped parents and students understand the expectations that Principal Broyles set for the year.
Here is a photo collage of the eventful, fun first day of school!
New freshmen were excited to not only see their new classes, but also meet their new classmates and teachers! The rest of the students were glad to be back in routine, walking the halls again! Teachers were happy to see new faces and just have a productive time in class for this semester.
Vloggers Shianne Painter, Anthony Johnson, and Jesus Rojas interviewed a variety of students to get their opinion on how the first day of school left them feeling. From freshmen to seniors, of course, no student had the same answer on how the day had gone.
