School is more than just classes, homework, and grades. It is also a place where students can explore their interests and discover who they are. One of the best ways to do that is by joining a school club. Clubs give students the chance to meet new people, develop new skills, and find a community of others who share the same interests. Whether someone enjoys art, music, sports, leadership, or helping others, there is a club for everyone.

At Chuckey-Doak High School, some of the social clubs offered include Bleacher Creatures, National Honor Society, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), First Priority, Knight Club, Career Connect, and Book Club. They are led by teachers and school staff. Dr.Bodary leads D&D and Book Club, Bleacher Creatures by Mrs.Sampson, Knight Club by Mrs.Tarlton, First Priority by Mrs.Kaylor, National Honor Society by Mrs.Darnell, FCA by Coach Hensley, and Career Connect by Mrs.Gauy.

The Bleacher Creature student section is a group of enthusiastic and dedicated students who come together to support their school’s athletic teams, events, and overall community spirit. Their main goal is to create an energetic and positive atmosphere at games and school functions by cheering, making signs, organizing themes, and encouraging student participation. Members of the Bleacher Creature Spirit Club often lead chants, wear school colors, and help unify the student body through school pride. They play a key role in boosting morale, motivating athletes, and fostering a strong sense of community and tradition throughout the school year.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a leader among educational organizations and societies that promote recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership is a privilege, and selection is based on a 3.5 GPA or higher, at the conclusion of the student’s junior year, as well as an excellent disciplinary record. Nominees must attend the introduction ceremony and complete at least ten volunteer hours and ten tutoring hours before graduation. Upon completion, members will receive a gold NHS cors. Mrs.Darnell is the C-DHS chapter sponsor.

D&D or Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop roleplay game where players collaborate to move through the world the Dragon Master (DM) creates. You never really know what is going to happen next, and it is a ton of fun if you play it.  They meet every Monday from 3 to 5:30 pm. Depending on your party, you can meet outside of school as well. Every session and encounter is crafted by the DM  for the players. The DM is in charge of the world-building for the players to explore. As long as you have a good group of friends and imagination, anyone can play and come together to have a good time.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Chuckey-Doak High School strives to be a powerful presence in the lives of students, blending faith, leadership, and sportsmanship. On Fridays, at 7:20 am, they meet. Through their weekly meetings, devotionals, and community outreach, Chuckey-Doak’s FCA helps students grow in faith and to make a lasting impact in their school and beyond.

The First Priority Club is a student-led organization that focuses on sharing faith, building community, and serving others within the school environment. Its mission is to create a space where students can come together to encourage one another and grow in their spiritual lives. Meetings often include prayer, short devotionals, and discussions about how to live out positive values in everyday life. Working with the club are local youth pastors, Jac Castillo (Eastside Baptist) and Justin Carson (Tusculum Baptist).  Members learn leadership skills by taking active roles in planning and leading meetings through prayer, devotion, and testimony.   Through participation, students strengthen their confidence, compassion, and sense of purpose. The mission of First Priority is to minister to others through their service to Jesus Christ.

Utust-GForce is the spirit of Knight Club! It’s all about bringing people together, celebrating different cultures, and spreading positivity around our school. They believe everyone should feel included, respected, and proud of who they are. Utust-GForce reminds us that when they support each other and celebrate what makes us unique, it creates a stronger, happier community for everyone.

Career Connect is a club where students discuss how a job should be suitable for someone. They also talk about how things are impacting jobs. They expand their knowledge about jobs and paths for a career. With this information, they asses a job that will fit your interests and personal skills.

The Book Club is a place for students who enjoy reading to come together and share their thoughts about books. Each month, they choose a new book to read and discuss their favorite characters, themes, and ideas. Everyone is welcome, whether you read a lot or are just getting started.
