This year has been a standout season for the Chuckey-Doak band program, showcasing dedication, teamwork, and exceptional musical talent both on the field and in the concert hall. From the energetic halftime performances to the polished sound of concert pieces, the band has continued to impress students, staff, and the entire community. The band is led by Director Landon Brady and Assistant David Price.
The marching band kicked off the year with strong spirit and even stronger performances. Hours of practice in the heat and long after-school rehearsals paid off as the band delivered sharp formations, crisp marching, and powerful music at each game. Their halftime shows were packed with excitement, drawing cheers from the crowd and setting the tone for school spirit all season long. The group also displayed impressive discipline, moving as one unit, listening closely to each other, and performing with precision every time they stepped onto the field.
On October 25th, 2025, the marching band delivered a phenomenal performance in Elizabethon, capping off an incredible year of dedication and perseverance. The community celebrates the students’ remarkable growth and achievements and extends its deepest gratitude to the students, parents, and volunteers. The marching band’s season wraps up with their last performance being the Greene County Christmas Parade.
As the new year rolls around, the focus shifts to the concert band, where musicians trade drill charts for sheet music. While marching season emphasizes movement, power, and teamwork on the field, the concert band focuses on tone, balance, and musical expression. Many of the students are excited to shift into this new style of performance, preparing to showcase their skills in the spring.
With a successful marching season behind them and a promising concert season on the horizon, the Chuckey-Doak band continues to show what can be accomplished through hard work and passion. The program remains a strong part of the school, bringing music, pride, and tradition to the community- on the field now, and soon on the stage.
they have set their sights on consistent strikes and high scores, one thing is certain- the lanes are ready, and there are strikes ahead for this determined group of bowlers. Good luck to the team for the rest of their season.
