This season for the Lady Knights was filled with accomplishments and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Coached by Marissa Snapp, the volleyball team advanced to the state tournament and won the first-ever state-level game in Chuckey-Doak history. These girls have worked hard and shown their dedication throughout the season, from start to finish, never giving up, no matter the circumstances.
From the opening serve of the season, the team played with a level of focus and unity that set them apart. The regular season was filled with statement wins and unforgettable moments. Comebacks showed the team’s resilience, while decisive victories proved their growth and confidence. Behind the scenes, countless hours of practice, conditioning, and film study fueled their success. Coaches emphasized discipline and belief, and the players responded with relentless effort and trust in one another.
Even though it was a very successful season for the team, these two players have set themselves apart by making an enormous impact. Addison Pruitt, senior, achieved 1000 assists over her high school career. This is a huge milestone, because it reflects leadership and consistency. This represents not only impressive statistics but also the player’s role in leading the team on offense. Addy is only the 3rd person in Chuckey-Doak history to achieve this accomplishment. Another standout player is Jacey Taylor. Taylor was recognized on the All-State Team for the 2025 season. This is the first time in school history that a volleyball player has received this honor. She demonstrated a relentless work ethic throughout the season. Consistency was key to her exceptional performance.
Marissa Snapp has been coaching here since 2023. She has made many changes and accomplished many things. They started the season and summer off without a gym; however, she had many connections and help that led them to practice. This journey represents dedication, leadership, and countless hours of work. Throughout the season, Coach Snapp motivated the girls and pushed them to their limits. It may have been hard, but the excellence paid off, getting them to the state level. This season will forever be remembered as one of the most remarkable chapters in our school’s athletic history.
