The historic and unexpected snowfall led to an unplanned break for both students and staff, offering a welcome chance to relax and create lasting memories. During this time, many students joined the school’s photo contest, submitting scenic landscapes, family moments, and entertaining pet photos.
Senior Eli Neas came in first place, submitting a picture of his jeep in a wooded, snowy area. Tying for second place were Tavyn Sexton with another vehicle photo and Mrs.Sampson with an adorable picture of her dog Moose. Taking third place were Emily Swecker, playing with her dog Harper, and Kayla Wilcox, posing for a picture with her horse.
Students were interviewed about their time spent over the break. Some favorite memories included sledding, friends, and family. The roads were also very icy, leading to people being stuck at their houses. One student, Peter Grooms, talked about walking to a couple of places because of the slippery road conditions.
Even though the snow has melted away, students will remember this break for years to come. This can remind students to never take the weather for granted and to use it to create lifelong memories.
