The CDHS baseball season started slowly, falling short twice against David Crockett High School and once against Pigeon Forge. Despite the early setbacks, the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights quickly turned things around and bounced back with a clean sweep against the South Greene Rebels, leading them to be first in the conference. In the first game, the Black Knights scored 18 runs and allowed the Rebels only 3. In the second game, where the boys played at SGHS, Chuckey-Doak scored 9 runs whilst holding South Greene to only 3 runs again.

The CDHS baseball team consists of 6 seniors: Gavin Crum, Dominque Atchison, Randall Sauseman, Benjamin Palazzo, Gavin Murray, and Lynkin Cutshaw. Besides those 6, the team is mostly a young team. However, that does not show in the Black Knight’s performance. They are a strong, committed team prepared to defend their reputation and succeed to state. Last year, the boys pulled off a 19-13 season with 10-1 in the 2A District I. The boys would like to do that, and better this year. They are currently 2-0 in the district, and they are on the right track to succeed this year.

The baseball team has been training hard and is in great shape, fully prepared for the challenges ahead. Everyone is motivated and confident, ready to give their best performance throughout the season. Although the season has just started, there are flashes of what this young team will become later on. And we are all excited to see it!
