Chuckey-Doak High School has recently unveiled a new CTE building designed to enhance career and technical education for its students. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with specialized spaces for Welding, Cosmetology, HVAC, Automotive, Industrial Maintenance, and Nursing programs. The new building aims to provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for various skilled trades and healthcare careers, reflecting the growing demand for workforce readiness in these fields.

The welding facility is outfitted with modern welding stations and safety equipment, allowing students to practice and master different welding techniques. This setup not only supports skill development but also emphasizes safety and precision, which are critical in the welding industry. Students have the opportunity to work with real-world tools and materials, making their training both practical and relevant.

In the cosmetology and HVAC sections, the building offers a professional environment where students can develop their expertise. The Cosmetology space is designed like a salon, complete with styling chairs and beauty equipment, fostering creativity and client interaction skills. Meanwhile, the HVAC lab will soon feature the latest heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, giving students hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The automotive and nursing areas are equally impressive, providing students with specialized tools and learning environments. The automotive shop includes diagnostic equipment and vehicle lifts, enabling students to work on real cars and gain valuable mechanical skills. The nursing lab is equipped with medical mannequins and simulation tools, helping students practice patient care in a controlled setting. Overall, this new building at Chuckey-Doak High School stands as a significant investment in student career readiness and community workforce development.

In order to make room for the new CTE building, other changes were made to our campus as well. Our previous greenhouse for the ag department had to be torn down to make room for the construction. A new greenhouse facility was built on the site of our previous tennis courts. A new tennis complex was built between the new greenhouse and the soccer fields. All in all, the addition of a new CTE building, greenhouse, and tennis courts is a huge benefit to our local high school students.
