The first cool breeze of October carried with it the scent of fallen leaves. Fall break had arrived at Chuckey-Doak High School. Some students traveled to other states, while others stayed home and enjoyed the nice weather.
Braylon Fox, a varsity football player, traveled to South Carolina to take a beach day: he and his family and friends went to the beach to spend some last moments under the sun in the heat before they came back to Tennessee to finally enjoy the sweater weather. Similarly, Mrs Darnell went to Oak Island in North Carolina to also visit the beach and friends. Mrs Darnell also took her red healer, Copper, and they had a great time celebrating fall break.
As for the seniors, Xayda Verecke and Michelle Brooks took some senior friends over to Fenders Farm to enjoy the flower field and the nice weather. Many pictures were taken, and many memories were made. The sunlight stretched across the rows of flowers, giving everything a warm glow as they explored the farm. They recalled the beautiful scenery and abundance of laughter.
In summary, the trip offered students and faculty a meaningful chance to unwind and connect with one another during a busy season of academic responsibilities. The positive feedback from participants highlighted how valuable these small community get-togethers can be in strengthening relationships and supporting student well‑being. The experience set an encouraging tone for the rest of the school year’s events. and emotional expression, providing a supportive community for students to connect through art. The sense of camaraderie built during long rehearsal sessions and competition seasons builds friendships among band members. By fostering both musical excellence and a strong social support network, the Chuckey-Doak High School band creates a transformative experience that shapes students into well-rounded, confident individuals.
