This past month, the FFA has got ‘moo’vin in the community. The first Chuckey-Doak FFA Chapter meeting of the year went off with flying colors! We interviewed several FFA Officers and aspiring Chapter members. The officers kicked off the meeting with a formal introduction, followed by announcements, food, and games.

The Chuckey-Doak Black Knights Volleyball team has had a strong start to their season.  As of September 5, the team has already won 2 varsity matches.  The 22 Black Knight players are coached by Marissa Snapp and Jacinth Crawford.  Our volleyball program boasts freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity teams.

The Knight’s Shoppe is located inside of the Knight’s Nook Library.  We sell coffee for $3, sports drinks and Dr. Enuf for $2, and water for $1. The Chuckey-Doak FFA Chapter competed in the Dairy Evaluation contest on August 23, 2024. This career Development Event (CDE) focuses on dairy cattle selection and herd management. The team won 1st place in the Eastern Region at the Appalachian Fair. This event helps students develop skills in observation, analysis, communication, and team collaboration.

On Tuesday, August 20th starting at 6:00 pm a meeting was held for seniors only to learn more about preparing for college. Senior startup is beneficial for seniors to learn more about their life after high school. This is a good time for them to learn about scholarships to apply for in their future.

This year, the Chuckey-Doak FFA* Chapter entered the Appalachian Fair with fresh ideas and a renewed spirit.
