Masonry classes, led by Mr. Davis, provide high school students with valuable training in both practical skills and workplace safety. Students learn how to read construction plans, measure materials, mix mortar, lay bricks, and build walls correctly. They also study the importance of accuracy, teamwork, problem-solving, and using tools responsibly. These skills can prepare students for future employment, apprenticeships, technical school, or careers in construction management.

Masonry Field Day is an educational event that allows Tennessee students to explore the skilled trade of masonry, and it is produced by Creative Masonry here in Greene County. During the event, students can learn about bricklaying, block construction, concrete work, and other techniques used to build strong and lasting structures. Field days often include demonstrations, hands-on activities, and competitions that help students understand how classroom lessons connect to real careers.

For students in Tennessee, masonry education can be especially useful because the construction industry offers career opportunities in communities across the state. A masonry student might eventually work as a bricklayer, block mason, concrete finisher, restoration specialist, or construction supervisor. Field Day allows students to meet experienced professionals, ask questions, and learn more about the education and training required for these careers.

Masonry Field Day also encourages students to take pride in creating something useful with their own hands. Building with brick, block, and stone requires patience, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. By participating in masonry classes and Field Day activities, high school students can gain confidence, explore a rewarding career path, and develop skills that can benefit them long after graduation. pride can create lasting memories for everyone. to improve throughout the year. As the season moves toward the postseason, the Black Knights will have more chances to test themselves and see how far their hard work can take them.
