As the fall sports season for Chuckey-Doak High School comes to a close, winter sports like basketball and wrestling are starting their new season. After a long pre-season of conditioning, training, and team building, these teams are ready to face off in multiple games and tournaments.

Basketball is one of the most anticipated sports for the winter sports season, as they usually consist of four teams: JV Girls, JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys. Chuckey-Doak basketball will play certain games for certain teams; for example, sometimes there will only be a game for Varsity Boys or a tournament exclusively for Varsity Boys.

Another highly anticipated winter season sport is Wrestling, which, similar to basketball, has a boys’ and girls’ team but is sectioned by weight class. While it consists of a team, wrestling relies solely on the individual wrestler to either win, draw, or lose. The teamwork comes in qualifying or winning as a school team.

Finally, Chuckey-Doak has a collaboration with South Greene for a bowling program. Coming off a strong season with Gavin Murray being a state champion, the bowling team is looking to compete in several tournaments to keep a strong sense of teamwork and retain a strong program for this season and upcoming ones.k, the Chuckey-Doak High School band creates a transformative experience that shapes students into well-rounded, confident individuals.
