As we reach the middle of August and CDHS Athletics begins, the Lady Black Knight Volleyball Team is ready to make an impact. Over the summer, the girls have been putting in the work, conditioning, and preparing for the upcoming season. This year’s lineup consists of naturally leading seniors and well-rounded underclassmen. Marissa Snapp returns as head coach, with Baylee Jarrell and Wyndi Snapp by her side as assistant coaches, ready to lead the team through a victorious and energetic season. 

The Chuckey Doak Lady Black Knights Volleyball team is coming off a historic state qualifying season. Last season, the volleyball team made it to state, being the first volleyball team in CDHS history to go to state and win a game. That being said, the energy is high as they go into the 2026 season.

The Lady Knights have a great senior lineup this season, consisting of Macy Church, Isabelle Karriker, Chloe Kirkpatrick, and Lucy Hall. All of them are very excited and looking forward to showing out for their senior year. The team is sure to have a great connection with these veteran players leading the game. These seniors are coming in with goals and high expectations this year, they said, looking forward to hopefully making a return to state and setting more records. Chloe Kirkpatrick says she is hoping to get close to 1,000 assists in her interview with BK Media. 

Other key assets of the Chuckey-Doak High School Volleyball team are Jacey Taylor and Jayden Myers. These two Lady Knights set the court this season as well-developed juniors, and they are ready to step up into their leading role behind the seniors. Jacey Taylor earned the title of AA All-State last season and District 1-AA conference player of the year. She is definitely a player to watch on the court this season, as her work ethic and dedication to the sport hold a key role in the team’s success.

As for the underclassmen of the team, they are in safe hands with their mentors, who have played and strategized in the game for years. With time, the underclassmen will develop great chemistry and field vision that is unparalleled in other high school volleyball teams. The work they put in not only in the offseason but in practice every day after school is over will show in their exemplary play.

This 2026 team is special and should be watched closely as their season continues. Show support not only for the players, but for the individuals coaching the program by attending games and cheering loudly in the stands. As the players roll up their sleeves, they are sure to rise above the net. Chuckey-Doak High School. Go, Black Knights!
